Download Microsoft Office Mobile for Android

Office Mobile for Office 365 Android Apps on Google Play

No, hell hasn’t frozen over, pigs aren’t flying, and you’re not dreaming â€" Microsoft Office for Android is finally available for all to download. The application was originally slated to launch in late 2011, then 20112, but a series of delays pushed it all the way back to 2013. Microsoft came through in the end, though, as the suite of office editing tools is sitting in the G0ogle Play Store for your enjoyment.

The “free” price tag on the actual download is a bit enticing, but remember that you need an Office 365 subscription to be able to use it. Here’s the list of subscriptions which can be used to give the mobile app a whirl:

A qualifying Office 365 subscription is required to use this app. Qualifying plans include: Office 365 Home Premium, Office 365 Small Business Premium, Office 365 Midsize Business, Office 365 Enterprise E3 and E4 (Enterprise and Government), Office 365 Education A3 and A4, Office 365 ProPlus, Office 365 University, and Office 365 trial subscriptions.

Also note that you’ll need a phone running Android 4.0 or higher in order to take advantage. The app looks quite beautiful and functional, though looks only go so far. Give it a download, and see if it’s enough to pry you away from the likes of Google Drive, OfficeSuite Pro and all the other document editing tools you’ve already gotten comfortable with. The download is waiting for you in the Google Play Store [1] .

PS: the tablet version isn’t yet available, but we’ll be dropping a line to Microsoft to see if we can get an idea of when that might happen.
