Tweetbot 2 for Mac now available with Yosemite redesign and new features

Tweetbot 2 for Mac

At the beginning of February, Tapbots officially teased the impending arrival of “Tweetbot 2 for Yosemite,” which promised a new aesthetic and plenty of new features.

Now, four months later, Tweetbot 2 for Mac is now available in the Mac App Store. Following the long-awaited arrival, the updated app will surely be a welcomed arrival for Tweetbot users. It now looks a bit more consistent with the iPhone app, which is a nice change from the previous desktop version.

As far as new features go, there’s a new Timeline search option, as well as improved list organization and verified badges now show up on appropriate Twitter profiles. A new three-pane toggle option at the top-left of the app will allow users to open up lists and other items in a new window or column much easier, as well as view all of your lists or search Twitter as a whole.

The visual design has changed, now offering flatter tabs, with redesigned user profiles and a “Recent Photos” subsection. When clicking on individual tweets, users will see an iOS-like interface, and new circular profile pictures. Users will see profile photos for retweets as well, and iOS-like message bubbles for Direct Messages.

The app is available now as a free update for those already running Tweetbot 2 for Mac. For those who don’t, though, the price has been dropped from $19.99 to $12.99. A link to download the app is available below.
