Georgia Football: Will Freshmen and Injuries be the Theme of 2014?

If pressed, I can point to a few things we’ve already learned this fall:

  1. Georgia needs Jay Rome healthy, and he’s getting there.
  2. Freshmen will play prominent roles on the defensive side of the ball.
  3. Injuries are already dismantling.

There’s good, bad and neutral news there.

I don’t think the Rome storyline is necessarily surprising, but I do think it’s crucial.

I think it’s good news that some newcomers are making an impression on the defense, but the Malcolm Mitchell injury could be devastating.

Again, it’s early on so all these topics are reaches.  But I think we’ll start to see some answers and depth chart moves when the pads are put on this week.

I wrote on these topics and more here at B/R [1] , so take a look.

That’s all I got/
