The flex cable for the Power/Volume buttons on the iPhone 6 has been one of the most oft-leaked parts, and yet, the 5.5-inch variant has been relatively quiet on that particular front. Until now, according to a new report.
In a new post from Apple.club.tw, we get to see what is said to be the first images of the Volume/Power flex cable from within the 5.5-inch iPhone 6, rather than the smaller option that we’ve seen so many times before. The flex cables that we’re seeing here are noted for looking quite similar to what we’ve seen before just a couple of days ago, but some key differences may indicate that these are indeed for a different device. Specifically, there is less space between the volume buttons and mute button. Additionally, the power buttons have different shapes, when compared.
Unfortunately, it’s still just an image we’re looking at, and it’s hard to tell if this is indeed a part for the larger iPhone 6. As it stands, with the differences mentioned, it’s worth noting that this could be the first part of a barrage of leaks heading our way, just as we’ve seen with the purported 4.7-inch iPhone 6.
We also get to see the SIM card trays. However, considering the blue hue that they’re showing off, it’s debatable whether or not these are legitimate. We’ve seen previous SIM card trays that show off the colors we expect to see later this year, from space grey, silver and gold. But, blue would indeed be a nice change of pace.
