The iOS camera app is not as comprehensive in terms of features in comparison to its Android counterparts, but the jailbreak community is constantly making efforts to fill the gaps that Apple leaves. A new tweak by the name of AlbumSnapper adds functionality to quickly and easily take photos saved directly to specific albums, and itâs extremely simple to get running.
Launch the camera app with AlbumSnapper enabled and youâll notice a new âAlbumsâ button in the top bar. Tap it to see a list of all your albums, easily letting you add photos to any eligible album on your device. Please note that albums synced from iTunes are not eligible; but thatâs okay, because with AlbumSnapper you can easily create a new album by tapping the âCreate Albumâ button from the album list.
After you install the tweak, head over to the default Camera app and check out the top bar. Next to the button used for reversing the camera, youâll see a new option called âAlbumâ. Tapping this button will present you with a list of all the albums you currently have on your device, and selecting one will set it as the album currently being used to save photos.
The tweak has a couple options which let you configure how it works, with the obligatory kill switch at the top of the list. Below that, youâll see an option called âPersist Albumâ. With this selected, youâll be able to choose an album and have it stay selected even after youâve closed and opened the Camera app. Lastly, thereâs an option called âAdd Albumâ which lets you create an album on the fly. With this enabled, the aforementioned album selector will have a new option for creating albums quickly using the tweak.
And thatâs about it for this quick tweak. If you love to take photos and keep them organize with minimal effort, this might just be the tweak for you. Itâs $0.99 on the Cydia Store [1] Â and you cna grab it right now.
Does this improve the iOS camera experience?
