Everybody knows Flappy Bird, that little green bird that flaps its tiny wings and falls to the ground as easily as a heavy bag of sand.
If you have never played this game, you might as well not try to, if you do not want every single waking moment to be occupied with thoughts of how to get that green flying thing suspended in the air and not banging against those pipes or falling to the floor.
But chances are you have already tried to play it. You might even have it on your device. The problem is, you just can’t get past your top score, which is 5, and you don’t know how on earth other people get to score over 100 on this highly addictive game.
Well, you are not the only one who has that frustration. In fact, most people get past a score of 20 even after attempting to beat their high scores a number of times. And if you are one tough buck who does not want to surrender to Flappy, here are some survival tips to help you get to your desired high score.
Play on an Android Device or a Tablet Computer
If you have been trying to beat your top scores on an iPhone, chances are you have been so frustrated beyond your ability to get frustrated. Playing the game on an iPhone is just next to impossible, as what many iPhone users will attest to. The bird just keeps falling prematurely to the ground and you are left wondering how it fell that quickly. Also, the iPhone screen is smaller than most Android smartphones, and believe me, when it comes to this game, the size of your screen does matter.
That is why if you want to score big, you better switch to an Android device or a tablet computer. You will have more chances of having that bird flying without injury. Well, Dong Ngyuen, Flappy Bird creator, said so himself that it is much easier to play the game on an Android device. Maybe we better trust him on this.
Go for the Middle of the Space in Between the Pipes
If you want to make sure that the bird does not hit the pipes, you will need to aim for that middle portion of the space in between. This will allow for a much safer pass.
Also, when you are going for it, do not touch the screen prematurely. On your first few attempts, observe how the bird responds to your tapping and how high it jumps depending on the number of times that you tap the screen. Remember that tapping too far away from the pipes will only make Flappy hit the upper pipe while tapping the screen too close to the pipes will make him hit the lower pipe. So strive to estimate a balance and just the right timing when you tap the screen.

You shouldn’t allow yourself to be too frustrated over such a thing as a game. So cut yourself some slack and maybe enjoy the game for once by making use of some hacks and cheats.
