‘Camera Plus’ Now with iPad Support, Use iPhone as Remote with AirSnap

Camera Plus 14Camera Plus is one of those popular photography apps that has been around for years. It had a rough start, but has since improved in quality, design, and features. The most recent update brings with it two major features that lets you take pictures on your iPad remotely using your iPhone as the trigger.

The biggest update to Camera Plus [1] for iPad users is the ability to take photos and videos from an Apple tablet. While universal support is major, that’s not the only thing this app can now do. Version 3.5 also allows users to capture photos and videos running Camera Plus via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. You can connect your devices together using AirSnap, and turn one gadget into the remote while you take pictures from across the room with the other.

Camera Plus 1Since the iPad doesn’t include a flash (still), Camera Plus includes a feature called Soft Flash, which automatically makes photos brighter, simulating the effects of flash.

Since the iPad has such a large screen, placing the shutter button right in the middle may not be convenient for tiny fingers. So, the app features a floating adjustable bar that includes the shutter button. The capture controls reposition as soon as your finger hits the screen, making it easier to hold the iPad while shooting photos and videos.

Camera Plus 13There are a lot of people out there who think that taking pictures with an iPad is lame. Thank goodness there are more people out there, developers and accessory makers especially, who disagree. Maybe now that more companies are including the iPad in creating their available products services, Apple will finally make the camera specs a little better. The iPad Air is still taking 5MP photos, while the iPhone 5s is up to eight, not to mention the larger sensor and increased light sensitivity.

Camera Plus is available on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch for $0.99. Download it in the App Store today [2] .
