The Virginia Zoo is offering free admission to all employees of the government Monday through Friday during the federal government shutdown.
âHere in Hampton Roads, we understand the importance of the work federal employees do,â said Greg Bockheim, the Zooâs executive director. âThis free admission offer is a token of our appreciation in light of the government shutdown.â
Employees seeking free admission must show a valid federal ID at the gate.
Friends and family members must purchase tickets at regular admission rates: $11 for adults, $10 for seniors age 62 and over, and $9 for children ages 2-11. Children under 2 are admitted free!
