Free: Download Videos From YouTube And Store Them On Your Mac (audio, too)

Google seems to think that our reason for being should be to watch YouTube videos, send links to video to our friends and family members, and, from time to time, click on their ads. That’s all well and good for Google’s business model, but what if all you want to do is find a video, download it and store it on your Mac?

For that, all you need is GetTube [1] , a simple Mac app without a price tag, and no advertisements to worry about.

All it does is grab YouTube videos and download the videos for storage on your Mac. There’s not an easier way to create a collection of drunken parents or cats chasing dogs.

The interface is Mac simple. Search YouTube videos as if you’re using a browser. Or, enter a YouTube URL.

GetTube

Did I mention free?

There’s little question that free has a different meaning to some people. GetTube is free to download. And free for 30 YouTube downloads and then it becomes nagware and asks you for money.

A free app is just that. An app that has full functionality and no price tag. Donationware is freeware that asks for a donation, but doesn’t nag. Nagware is reserved for applications that wait awhile and then ask for money.

If you must have YouTube videos and free is your budget limitation, try MacX YouTube Downloader [2] instead.
