Intuit Inc. said Thursday it has a new application called MoneyDue. The free app can turn business appointments into payment reminders on iPhone and iPod Touch devices.

The app converts calendar appointments into payment reminders. It allows small business owners, for example, the ability to see payments they owe and those that have been received through their calendar appointments.

“One of the biggest problems facing small businesses â€" contractors, freelancers and tutors â€" is that they don’t get paid fast enough,” said Yumi Clark , a director for the Intuit PaymentNetwork in a prepared statement. “MoneyDue allows users to turn time into money by reminding customers to pay when services are due. The app helps busy small business owners professionally manage money flow from their smartphone.”

The app also allows small business owners to send e-bills.

Mountain View-based Intuit (NASDAQ:INTU) specializes in business and financial management technologies for small and mid-sized businesses, financial institutions, consumers and accounting professionals.
