International backpacker hostel, Generator Hostels, has launched an app allowing guests to book beds on the move from their iPhone or iPad. The app, available free from iTunes, allows users to view information and images from Generator Hostels’ five locations in Berlin, Copenhagen, Dublin, Hamburg and London, making it the most comprehensive app of its kind.

It also allows users to link to the company’s social media channels such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, posting comments or sharing images and videos about their travels and stays in Generator Hostels’ properties.

Generator Hostels has seen a 383 per cent growth in site visits from connected devices in the last 12 months. The launch of the app is in response to the organisation’s commitment to bring the latest benefits and technology to its customers and an increased demand from travellers for mobile applications to organise their trips.

“Over the last 12 months we’ve seen huge increases in access to our online sites from smart phones and tablet computers,” explained Alison Armitage, director at Generator Hostels. “We want to make it as easy as possible to book a room with us, even while travelling, allowing our guests to chose the channel which suits them best to make their reservations.”
