Disney Teases 'DuckTales: Remastered' for iPhone

One of my absolute all-time favorite NES games was DuckTales, and adventure platformer based around the Disney cartoon series of the same name. It starred the wealthy Scrooge McDuck and his three nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, as well as a large supporting cast of both friends and enemies. It's a total classic! In 2013, Disney, Capcom and WayForward collaborated on a modern remake of the game for consoles and PC titled DuckTales: Remastered. Now, according to a photo tease [1] from the Disney Interactive Twitter account, it looks like DuckTales: Remastered is heading to an iPhone near you.

They're playing DuckTales, in front of actual ducks, on an iPhone! Life is crazy. What's also crazy is that I was just thinking about DuckTales: Remastered and how I was mad it never came to the Nintendo 3DS. Well, if it ends up coming to the iPhone, even better! DuckTales: Remastered received a mostly positive reception when it originally released. Presentation-wise, it was on par with the old cartoons, featuring gorgeous visuals and animation as well as full voice-acting from the show's original cast. Gameplay-wise it was faithful to the NES original and decidedly old-school, which you either loved or hated. Personally, I'll be absolutely through the roof if DuckTales: Remastered heads to the iPhone, which it looks like it is, so as soon as we get any more information on it we'll be sure to let you know.

a third-party Facebook Messenger app that sings your chats

It has only been a couple of days since Facebook announced that third-party app integration would be added to the social chat app. There are already dozens of GIF makers, custom avatar creators, and special sticker add-ons to bombard your friends and family with hilarity.

Ditty is a third-party Facebook Messenger app that turns what you write into music. Pick a song, type out your message, and watch it transform into a musical. The next time you want to cheer someone up, do it with a song set to your own, personalized lyrics. [1]

Once you’ve installed Ditty on your iPhone, it will be available in your “More” tab in Facebook Messenger. Select it to begin. There are 10 free songs, plus 16 additional songs that can be purchased for $0.99 each. Free songs are familiar and basic, like “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and “Hallelujah.” The paid songs include some classic hits, like “I Fought the Law” and “The Gambler.” The selection is far from big. However, I’m sure the content will grow as this app’s popularity does.

Once you’ve picked a song, enter your message. You can include up to 70 characters for one song. The process of creating the customized song can take a while sometimes. However, most of the times that I tried it, the song loaded quick enough.

The app will add the words you’ve written to video that is approximately 20 seconds long. As the music plays, the words will appear on screen. A very electronic voice will also sing along to the song using your words.

After you’ve previewed the song, you can send it to someone through Messenger. You can also save it to your camera roll so you can share it with someone that doesn’t even use Messenger.

Sure, it is a silly little feature, but I had a lot of fun with it. I noticed that songs are funnier, the shorter your message is. The words will never properly match up with the song, so using a short sentence makes the whole thing a little bit funnier.

Ditty is free to download and available on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. You can download it in the App Store today [2] , or grab it from inside the Messenger app.

Download MovieBox 3.3 Without Jailbreak, Supports iPhone 6 And 6 Plus

A couple of days back, we let you know that MovieBox could be accessed on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices running iOS 8.2, and no longer required a jailbreak in order to get up and running. Now, the stock-ready edition has been updated to version 3.3 adding a slew of features, and while MovieBox v3.3 has been knocking around for a while now, it’s the first time that non-jailbreakers have been able to get in on the act. Full details can be seen after the break.

MovieBox 3.1 for jailbreak-less devices was detailed earlier on this week, but version 3.2 and 3.3 â€" both of which have been present in Cydia for a while â€" can now be accessed by those who haven’t exploited their device using the likes of TaiG, Pangu or PP.

Version 3.1 to version 3.3 is quite a considerable leap, as you might imagine. Making the jump, you’ll be able to reap the benefits of the numerous MovieBox 3.2.x releases that brought iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus optimizations as well as a number of bug fixes and general performance tweaks, and as you can see, MovieBox 3.3 offers quite a generous dollop of goodness as well.

For example, v3.3 lets users pinpoint the playback server, which should put paid to any lingering AirPlay issues you might encounter, while a bug causing missing images from downloaded movies seems to have been taken care of as well.

It’s not quite all plain sailing just yet, though. As the release notes also identify, there’s an issue with one of the servers at this moment in time, and until it is resolved, you may have problems with some movies. Work is clearly being done to ensure that a fix is forthcoming, and so if you are running version 3.1 on your non-jailbroken device, now’s about the time to update.

Oh, and if you are feeling to jailbreak and install the traditional way, you can take that route so long as you’re running either pre-iOS 8.1.3, or iOS 8.2 betas 1 or 2.

You can grab the latest MovieBox update for non-jailbroken devices from vshare.
