The Best Tweaks of the Week [July 28

For this weeks “Best Tweaks of the Week” we have 5 new tweaks for you to check out. If you’re a fan of free tweaks, then stick around because there are 3 of them you can try without forking over any cash. We’ll be covering Centrex, BetterCCSliders, QuickYo, Lockscreen Launcher, and QuickFolders. Let’s jump right in!

Centrex â€" Free

Centrex

If you did see in the new iOS 8 Beta 4 video, the control center in iOS 8 has changed. In my opinion, it looks a lot less cluttered than before. If you’re looking to get that iOS 8 themed control center brought to your iOS 7 device, then download Centrex free of charge and check it out for yourself.

BetterCCSliders â€" Free

BetterCCSliders

This is another free tweak that will give you a simple but nice addition to your control center. This tweak allows you to simply tap on the left and right brightness glyphs to either darken or brighten the brightness. This also works on the volume slider. Just tap on the small speaker to lower the volume and on the right speaker to increase it. You can also change the increment levels for each tap within the settings.

QuickYo â€" Free

QuickYo

This tweak is for those of you that use Yo. It’s not something I personally use on a daily basis, but there must be some of you out there using it. For this tweak, when you receive a banner notification from Yo, you can simply tap it to instantly reply without even having to go into the app.

Lockscreen Launcher â€" $0.99

LockscreenLauncher

Looking for a new lock screen launcher that doesn’t change much in terms of UI? Try this one out. Set your custom apps in the settings of Lockscreen Launcher and respring. You’ll be presented with 9 quick launch apps that you can just tap on right on the lock screen and it will automatically open right up. If you have a passcode, you’ll have to enter it before it will launch the app, there is no passcode bypass for this tweak.

QuickFolders â€" $1.99

QuickFolders

This is a tweak we covered this week that I think has some potential. There are still a few bugs within it, so hopefully that will be fixed in a future release. But, this tweak allows you to use gestures within your folders. Just tap and hold on the folder and slide your finger over the app you want to open and release. You can also drag your finger out of the folder to go back to the springboard, drag it to the side of the folder to go to the next page within the folder, or drag it over a nested folder to instantly open it up. If you want to use gestures on the folder icon itself, you can set that up within the settings as well.

Here’s a walkthrough of all the tweaks mentioned in this post if you want to see them live:

Let us know which tweaks you plan on grabbing in the comments below!
