London, 5 August 2014 â" Award-winning digital agency Cyber-Duck [1] today announced the launch of UX Companion [2] (http://uxcompanion.com/ [3] ), the first app to offer a comprehensive glossary of user experience (UX) terms and theory. The app provides clear, easy-to-grasp introductions to core UX d esign concepts and techniques, offering a simple reference tool for those involved in UX-focused projects. UX Companion is available for immediate, free download from the iTunes store, for apple devices.
UX Companion demystifies the jargon by summarising UX design terms and methods. For example, it clarifies the common confusion between the scope of âUXâ itself, and âusabilityâ. Each article opens with a succinct introduction, and the description continues to explain the topic further, providing valuable tips on practical use. Additional, external resources are provided for each topic, for those who want to learn more. These have been carefully selected from the overwhelming abundance of UX material currently available. UX Companion launches with 50 articles and future updates will be available via the iTunes store.

UX Companion can be used by designers (at any level), to enhance the effectivene ss of their work; students, who aspire to learn about the digital industry; and marketers, who want to discover more about their digital agenciesâ technical processes. The app format is more convenient than an online glossary, as it eliminates having to scroll through lengthy copy and can be more discretely used in a meeting.
UX Companion was developed by Cyber-Duck as a free resource for the digital community. It intends to open the design concepts of the UX field to as many people as possible. Danny Bluestone, Managing Director of Cyber-Duck, said: âUX Companion is a very useful guide for the user experience community and is the first app to offer a complete glossary of UX design concepts. At Cyber-Duck, we believe in demystifying the UX field so everyone, regardless of their level of their expertise, can learn more about UX and help to make projects betterâ.
The design and build of UX Companion is efficient and elegant, so after download, the appâs cor e materials can be quickly consulted anywhere, without requiring an internet connection. The app incorporates predictive and alphabetical search, and offers users the ability to share the content they access via email. Currently, UX Companion is compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch devices running iOS 7+, and is available for free download from the iTunes store [4] . Cyber-Duck is planning on releasing an Android and Web app version later this year.
