Best iOS 7 Cydia Jailbreak Tweaks - #1 Activator

Best iOS 7 Cydia Jailbreak Tweaks: Activator by Ryan Petrich

Best iOS 7 Cydia Jailbreak Tweaks: Activator by Ryan Petrich

Definitely a number one tweak on the top of my jailbreak downloads list is always Activator. Activator, created by developer Ryan Petrich is a system-wide tweak that lets you set up custom activation gestures and commands for just about anything on your device. Allowing you to control everything from app opening, music controls, mail and any other number or regular activities, Activator jailbreak tweak allows you to select from a wide variety of gestures like tapping, swiping, pinching or shaking various parts of your device screen in order to "activate" the action you are wanting. Activator has been recently updated for compatibility with all devices using the iOS 7 jailbreak including the iPhone 5S, 5c, iPad Mini 2 and iPad Air.

In addition to the many things activator does on its own, many jailbreak tweaks use Activator as their method of starting. For example, the swiping across the top of the screen action used by SBSettings is through Activator. Everything in Activator is broken down by where the action will trigger. The options are Anywhere, At Home Screen, In Application, and At Lock Screen. Each one of these has the same massive list of activations, but they will only trigger if you are in the right part of your phone. This tweak with the latest update also provides gestures for the new Touch ID on iPhone 5S. Activator was one of the first tweaks I downloaded and used as a new jailbreaker and definitely one of the best and most valuable iOS 7 jailbreak tweaks found in the Cydia app store. Even better, this tweak is free, so download it today!

Best iOS 7 Cydia Jailbreak Tweaks - #2 Action Menu

Action Menu is another essential jailbreak tweak [1]  that once you use, you'll consider to be a must-have. Thankfully, it was pretty quickly updated to be compatible with iOS 7 jailbreak. So what does Action Menu do? Action Menu enhances the copy/paste function of your iPhone by adding a bunch of add-ons to it. The lite version is free but for $2.99, you can get the full-featured app.

In addition to the stock cut/copy/paste functionality, the free jailbreak tweak in the Cydia app store has many features that are very useful, such as:

  • Select all - select all the text at once
  • Dial - dials any number that you select
  • To top - scroll all the way up the page
  • To bottom - scroll all the way down the page
  • History - all your copied or cut text is saved to a clipboard for easy access. You can edit the clipboard to delete them and move them up and down the list.
  • Favorites -  If there is text that you have to paste on a regular basis, just add it to your favorites for quick and easy access. That favorite text could be an email signature for example, a phone number, a website URL.
  • Lookup - don't know what this word means? Want to know how to translate this word in French? Just select a word or sentence and hit the "lookup" button. You will have the ability to search this word in Google, Wikipedia, dictionary, or even translate it in the language of your choice.
  • Tweet - Select some text and hit the "Tweet" button. It will open your favorite Twitter app and copy the text into it.

If you are new to the jailbreak scene, this must-have tweak should definitely go to the top of your best Cydia tweaks â€" and fortunately it is compatible with all iOS7 jailbroken devices.

Best iOS 7 Cydia Jailbreak Tweaks - #3 CCControls

Ok so with the new iOS 7 Control Center the iOS 7 jailbreak scene is already at work on making some alterations - one of which is the newly launched Cydia tweak, CC Controls. The iOS 7 Control Center mimics jailbreak tweaks like SBSettings [2]  or NCSettings [3] , so this new tweak allows modifications to the toggle pane. The iOS 7 untethered jailbreak tweak allows you to customize what toggles are found in Control Center along with adding a few of their own. New toggles like VPN, Personal Hotspot and Respring make this Cydia tweak pretty useful. Plus the new jailbreak tweak allows users the ability to disable certain toggles when on the lock screen, like Airplane Mode for example. Definitely a great tweak for customizing your device to serve you better.

Best iOS 7 Cydia Jailbreak Tweaks - #4 F. Lux

The f.lux jailbreak tweak [4]  was quickly updated to accommodate the iOS 7 jailbreak and is compatible with all jailbroken devices and has made itself a definite favorite for many. F. lux is appreciated because it has been designed with user visual comfort in mind. As daylight fades, the tweak warms up the iOS device [5]  screen in an attempt to match the lighting during the evening. According to F.lux creators, it isn't visually comfortable to use a mobile device or computer under the same lighting conditions twenty four hours a day. They believe that as the external lighting conditions change, the lighting on the mobile device should also change to reflect this. F.lux then works to change the color and lighting of the screen for more comfort in the evening. If the bright lighting of the iOS screen does bother you at various times of day or night, f.lux may be a great tweak to give a go. The tweak is available on Cydia now for all devices running an iOS 7 jailbreak.

Best iOS 7 Cydia Jailbreak Tweaks #5 Tetherme

TetherMe, is an incredibly popular hotspot app [6]  for iPhone and iPad, and now is offering full compatibility for iOS 7. This tweak is particularly nice on the newest 64-bit devices like the iPhone 5S and iPad Air.

Although the iPhone and iPad does offer 'Personal Hotspot' access as a native feature, some carriers like to deactivate it, preventing users from using their cellular data [7]  for tethering unless you pay them to enable the feature. But with TetherMe, users can override those restrictions, allowing for free tethering regardless of your carrier. You can set your hotspot up exactly as you wish. This iOS 7 jailbreak tweak is $4.99 on the Cydia jailbreak app store. It is well worth the money for the service it provides.
