Microsoft owned Skype is one of the most used services out there for online communication. Today the Skype app for iOS has been updated and it brings a fresh new look.
Apple released iOS 7 for compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models last month. The update was first unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2013 earlier this year. It brings a number of new features for iOS devices. The biggest changes in this update is the new flat user interface, which actually makes it that biggest update ever to have been made to iOS. The user interface has been completely redone to present a more refined and cleaner look.
Since iOS 7 rolled out, developers have gradually been updating their apps to compliment iOS 7 user interface. Skype has finally followed through as well. The new Skype for iPad and iPhone brings a refreshed look and feel for iOS 7. It is flat, clean and refined like the OS, thus complimenting the UI changes that Apple has made in iOS 7. Apart from that, the update also brings a host of general fixes, speed and accessibility improvements. VoiceOver is now capable of announcing the senders name when messaging and it has also been improved for group chats.
Skype for iPhone [1] and iPad [2] is available as a free download from the iTunes App Store.
