On this morning’s KXAN News Today broadcast, we talked to the President of the Insurance Information Institute, Dr. Robert Hartwig.  We discussed the strength of the insurance industry, ways to make sure you are protected, and a few resources you can take advantage of courtesy of III.  Here is a little bit about what the III does and a few links to those resources:

 

 

The Insurance Information Institute (“i.i.i.”) is a U.S.  industry organization which exists to improve public understanding of insurance â€" what it does and how it works.  The I.I.I. web site provides information for consumers, the media, researchers and the general public on a wide range of topics, including automobile insurance, homeowners insurance, life insurance, annuities, health insurance, long-term care insurance and disability insurance. The Web site also contains papers, presentations and fact sheets that focus on financial results, catastrophes, climate change and other key issues the insurance industry faces.

For more than 50 years, the I.I.I. has provided definitive insurance information. Today, we are recognized by the media, governments, regulatory organizations, universities and the public as a primary source of information, analysis and referral concerning insurance.

Each year, the I.I.I. works on more than 3,700 news stories and handles more than 6,000 requests for information.
