Where is Smart Player?

Thanks for your question Connor. There is not a Smart Player to download. The TechSmith Smart Player is created from Camtasia Studio or Camtasia for Mac when you produce a video project. Camtasia will generate the TechSmith Smart Player files, along with the video file. You can then host the files on your own Web server. Screencast.com also uses the TechSmith Smart Player to play back its video content that is created from Camtasia Studio 8 or Camtasia for Mac 2. Viewers don't have to download or install anything. The Smart Player works with the viewers browser to provide the video playback and interactive experience. The only exception is for iPhone.

There is a TechSmith Smart Player iPhone app that viewers can download from the iOS app store. If a viewer tries to watch a video that uses the Smart Player, the viewer will be directed to download the app, which is free. Once they have the app, they can play back video content created from Camtasia on the iPhone. The benefit is that any interactivity such as quizzing, table of contents, hotspots and closed captioning will work on the iPhone. These features will not work without the iPhone Smart Player app.
