iphone - Cost to launch iOS app

Alright, if you are like me, an Indie developer who had a computer before started programming, or doesn't necessarily count buying a computer as programming funds (I make music too), then the cost would be small.

I would say in your case, around $800 by the calculations you provided, then again, how big is your app, what are the functionalities? Does it use a database? How about marketing? Graphics?

The price could range from $1000 - $200, 000 in the most extreme scenarios.

Give more info and I can give a better depiction.

OK, so a 2D stacking game, I would suggest around $1500 dollars as a total estimate. This includes graphics money, probably needs a database for hosting the scores, Im also considering marketing here, some background music and the equipment you need.

For testing I use friends and family so no money required, and opening up a developer program is 100 per year

You can make your own graphics, and do not need any marketing. Honestly then, I would say around $800, in case you went to throw $100 dollars here or there (especially for research), that is the most accurate figure I can give.

You say you want database hosting for recording users progress, why don't you just use your phones defaults for that? The NSUserDefaults provides an offline solution to storing data on the phone, its great and easy!

If you want to make a 2D game, look into Cocos2D, free and awesome!
