Thursday launches free iOS SDK

Monday, November 26, 2012

Thursby Software Systems Inc. launched the free PKard iPad and iPhone secure app software development kit.

The PKard SDK gives iPad and iPhone app developers a way to develop and maintain secure apps, supporting two-factor authentication to Defense Department Common Access Card or federal employee PIV smart cards, leveraging multiple Apple Made for iPad/iPhone approved readers, or derived tokens, where allowed by security standards and infrastructure.

With legacy PC shipments dropping off and sales of tablets and smart phones soaring, the Thursby SDK is designed to support security across a range of Apple mobile use cases from individuals and Bring Your Own Devices, to enterprise and Government Furnished Equipment, both with or without third party Mobile Device Management.

Early adopters of the SDK include Gradkell, makers of the DBsign tool used in the Defense Travel Site for secure Web signing; Juniper Networks, for secure Virtual Private Networking; and Silanis, for electronic document signing, government agencies, Department of Defense commands, as well as national and international enterprise clients.

Thursby will be demonstrating the solutions at the Government Smart Card Alliance Conference in Washington, DC, November 28 and 29.
