The Rolling Stones [1] have unveiled their first-ever iPhone app. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter [2] , the free app allows users to watch interviews, try and win tour tickets, and see photos and videos of the band across the decades. For a fee, fans can also unlock exclusive content shot specifically for the app. A feature will soon be added that allows fans to vote for songs they wish to see performed in concert. âWe wanted to do something a bit special and innovative,â said Mick Jagger, âan app that really connects with the user, lots of exclusive content, integration with social networks and the ability to make a song request for the upcoming shows."
Referencing the Stones 50th anniversary, Keith Richards added: âThere'll be quite a few surprises in there for the fans; some behind the scenes footage; some old, some new stuff that very few people get to see. It's all part of a rather splendid celebration for us.â
