Alarm Clock Gear Free for iOS – Stylish, Surreal Alarm Clock with Games | The MacTrack

Seoul, Korea â€" November29 Studio today is pleased to introduce Alarm Clock Gear 1.0 free for iOS, its stylish alarm clock designed around a surreal, dream state motif. A wholly original interpretation of the geared mechanism powering a classic, wind-up alarm clock, all displays and controls are soft spheres with small, nipple-like, gear teeth. Users can set their objet d’art alarm clock from an H/M/M-AM/PM display of concentric, rotary gears. Features include: win a game to silence the alarm, multiple saved alarms, choice of built-in melodies or selections from the iTunes Library for wakeup, repeating alarms, 5-minute snooze alarms, or normal shutoff. Fully functional as a free app, users may expand their clock design and game options via an in-app purchase.

Feature Highlights:
* Stylish, full-featured alarm clock
* Set multiple alarms
* Set repeating alarms
* Awaken to a built-in melody or a song from your Music Library
* Ensure you are completely awake by completing a game to shut off the alarm

At launch in portrait orientation, users are greeted by a calm blue sky and billowing white clouds drifting by, partially obscuring the plump gears that serve as controls and displays. The largest gear at the top of the screen is marked with a “+” sign, allowing users to add a new alarm setting. Hanging from this control gear, one-by-one, are smaller gears displaying all the past and future alarms that have been set. Resembling a string of Christmas tree decorations, the alarm-time gears may extend past the bottom of the screen, and scrolling vertically reveals the twilight and then the night sky. Individual past or future alarm gears can be sent to the trash with a touch, alarm settings edited, or they may be kept as remembrances of past dreams.

Setting a new alarm brings up a fullscreen, concentric, 4-gear rotary display, which allows users to dial in the exact hour (1-12), minute/first digit (0-5), minute/second digit (0-9), and AM or PM. Digits are indicated on the small, rounded gear teeth, and after rotating any alarm-set gear into the alarm-time window, a muffled mechanical click is heard. After saving the alarm-time setting, the user may choose up to 7 of 8 sectors of the repeat-set gear. Choices include: Never, or Every M/T/W/Th/F/Sat/Sun. Finally, after saving the repeat setting, users can choose their audible alarm from several included melodies or any song in their iPod Music Library.

Alarm Clock Gear lets sleepers choose from normal, touch alarm shutoff, or game-based shutoff. Guaranteed to bring any user out of sleep, the alarm will not shut off until the manual dexterity puzzle is solved. There is also a 5-minute snooze alarm for those almost ready to arise. When the alarm is turned off, a new screen slides into view, showing the current time, the day of the week, the date, and the current temperature and weather conditions, based on the current location of the iDevice.

“There are so many iOS alarm clock apps to choose from, we decided to make ours completely unlike any other,” commented Shepard Park of November29 Studio. “One look at our free Alarm Clock Gear app, and I think you’ll agree that we have succeeded.”
