Verizon iPhone 5 Updated to Fix Wi-Fi Bug

After being treated to unlocked iPhone 5s , Verizon customers got another surprise, albeit this time not a good one â€" a bug sometimes caused the iPhone 5 to slurp cellular data although it was connected to Wi-Fi.

This was a particularly nasty bug, as it could theoretically rack up expenses on users’ data plans without them knowing. There’s no room for panic, though, as the issue has now been fixed [1] .

Users are advised to go to iPhone’s Settings â€" General menu, where they can update the device to the latest software version.

To see if everything went OK, check Settings â€" General â€" About after restart and scroll down to Carrier, where “Verizon 13.1″ should be displayed.
