Secret Garden â" Keep Your Secrets: Written iPhone App Review
Have you ever wished there was a way for you to store private information on your iPhone such as bank account numbers or photos? Maybe you share your phone with others and there are just some things youâd like to keep to yourself.
Secret Garden â" Kepp Your Secrets [1] , developed by EISoft Solutions [2] , might just be the answer to this problem. Using the 256-bit encryption algorithm provided by iOS, Secret Garden is an app which strives to protect and organize your personal information.
Concept and functionality:
Nowadays, everyone is looking for privacy. Secret Garden promises to hold your sensitive information the best it can.
When I first started the app and tried to create an account I was greeted with a liability agreement. It states âAll secrets created by Secret Garden are stored securely by employing strong encryption. However, secret garden does not hold liability for any damage/loss in any form as a result of the secrets being revealed to any person by any means.â
Creating an account is fast and simple. All you have to do is enter an ID, a password, and an optional second level password to protect more important secrets. There are three different security levels (low, medium, and high), and the second password is required in order to view medium and high security secrets. Be sure to write down your account information, because thereâs absolutely no way to recover or reset it.
Once youâre all set with an account, youâre taken to the appâs main screen. Here you can view and manage your secrets, purchase upgrades in the store, and change app settings. Creating a secret can be as simple or as complicated and detailed as you want. This all depends on how much information you want to provide. In addition to security levels, there are also many pre-created categories for you to file secrets in. Also, you can add up to four photos to each secret along with text.
Features:
One of my favorite aspects about this app is the ability to set a second password. I also like that it doesnât allow you to create medium and high security secrets if you havenât established a second password.
Another great security feature is the âAuto Logoutâ setting. This gives you the option to keep the app secure by making you login again if you switch the app to the background. Having this enabled is great for people who are storing information such as credit cards and bank account numbers, but the casual user who only stores minimal info on the app might find this annoying.
Value:
Secret Garden is free to download with the limitation of up to 1 user account and 5 secrets. In-App purchases are available for additional accounts and unlimited secrets including photo secrets. You canât beat the price, but whether or not you trust this app with your sensitive information is up to you. If you take all the necessary precautions (passcode lock on your phone, enabling a second password in the app), then itâs highly unlikely someone other than you will be able to access it.
Secret Garden â" Keep Your Secrets [3] is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later.
