Bacteris, Enkl, Microgue, and more apps to check out this weekend

Apps of the week

So, you’ve got your Apple Watch and all you want to do is look at its tiny screen and wait for that subtle tap. You’re not interested in any normal sized apps. Well, why don’t you just check out our Apple Watch app list .

The rest of our readers, the ones that are still waiting anxiously for Apple to tell them that their watch has shipped, we’ve got a list of apps and games we think will help you forget your woes.

Bacteris

Control the universe you exist in by being the largest of the smallest living organisms in this puzzle based arcade game. Players must capture and absorb nearby disease-spreading cells. The problem with diseased cells is that they want to infect you before you can overpower them. So, watch out for cells that have more strength or you will be under their control instead. To win this game, you will have to strategize how to best divide your cells to capture and control the others. This game is available for free [1] .

Enkl monophonic synthesizer

For the mobile musicians reading this list, Enkl just launched a fully featured monophonic synthesizer that allows you to create a wide variety of looping sounds, including chip tune, heavy bass, and more. There are 93 different presets made by musicians in the industry and you can create and save your own. The iPad version features an extended keyboard so you can play strange music as if you were connected to a MIDI instrument. There is a wide range of features, including two separate oscillators, waveform samples, modulators for pitch and volume, legato mode, and more. This app is available for $5.99 [2] .

Galaga Tekken

You are not reading this wrong. Tekken and Galaga are actually together in one retro mash up for the ages. Control Tekken fighters in the world of Galaga and shoot your way through an endless barrage of enemies. As you fight to rescue your allies, you will be able to join up to become one tag team for a massive attack on the boss. New playable characters with wicked weapons have been added. But, so have new enemies to fight. Will you make it to the final showdown against the Mishima Family? This game is available for free [3] .

Find for Periscope

Looking for something in particular on Periscope? Having trouble finding what or whom you are looking for? This utility app helps make sifting through the hundreds of live streaming videos on Periscope easier. You can search for streams by status, location, and user name. Once you’ve found what you are looking for, you can either watch a live stream from within the app, or switch to Periscope for a more feature robust experience. All you need is a little help from a good search engine to find the right live stream to waste away your day. This app is available for free [4] .

Microgue

This retro style roguelike game that is a follow up to Relic Rush that mixes traditional RPG dungeon crawling with chess. Players move across the board, following specific movement rules in order to cross the rooms. Each room is filled with monsters and obstacles that make it nearly impossible to get through. Each level is randomized and monsters do different things. You can also use the obstacles on each floor to your advantage. Push an enemy into spikes to squish them. Switch places with monsters to watch them fall into traps. This game is available for $0.99 [5] .

Piggy Realtor

When you are looking for a new house in a new town, the best possible help you can get is from friends that live in the area and have a realtor. This app is like that friend. It is a real estate social networking community that brings together clients, realtors, and vendors so they can network and help each other out. It allows realtors to manage incoming and outgoing referrals and reminds them how to keep in touch with their clients. When there is a good network of real estate agents nearby, you can be sure they will be the right person to help you find the perfect home. This app is available for free [6] .

Warrior Heart

This is a big week for roguelike games. This traditional pixel-heavy game follows the basic simple rules of permadeath. Die and lose everything. Then, start over again. Although the quest is nearly impossible to complete, the rewards are great. Explore a vast dungeon, searching for gold, weapons, and armor. Search the many rooms to find hidden doors, expose keys, and climb ladders. If you lose all of your health, you will have to start from the very beginning, but that’s what a roguelike is. This game is available for $1.99 [7] .
