Today’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch free apps daily include a sky gazing app, travel utility, neat note taker, and side scrolling shooter. A number of apps drop from paid to free on a daily basis*, and we pick the top four everyday, as many of the others aren’t worth your time even for free. Everyday we try to pick apps that are worth spending money on, but are now free to download, and here they are.

SkySafari 4 ($1.99 -> Free, Universal) [1] : An astronomy app that shows you 120,000 stars, plus 220 star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies. You can find the actual sky view from anywhere you are on earth, and the imagery is directly from NASA including the Hubble telescope. There’s just so much to dive into with such great accuracy of the sky above. The 4th edition is made for iOS 7.
Travel List ($0.99 -> Free, Universal) [3] : The app helps you travel without forgetting a thing beginning with the easy to create and check off packing list. You can then set up your travel itinerary with calendar and alerts. There’s a clean focus to the app to let you focus on what you need to pack.
aNote ($1.99 -> Free, iPhone) [5] : A neat utility that lets you capture a screenshot from the share sheet menu in Safari using the new iOS 8 extensions. In addition, you can annotate those screenshots with free form drawing to highlight particular parts of your screenshots, or just draw doodles. The function works in any app that supports the share sheet.
Little Frights ($0.99 -> Free, Universal) [7] : A 2D side scrolling zombie shooter that maximizes the action while you try to survive for as long as possible. The game comes with a unique set-up, in that you’re spinning around a 3D globe to constantly change the perspective, and see where the zombies are coming from.
