Not enough free space to install iOS in August? Install it from iTunes!

Ese "más grande que nunca" se debería aplicar al update también.

That “bigger than ever” should apply the update as well.

A recent result shows that the level of adoption of iOS 8 is among the slowest we’ve had so far. In iOS, unlike Android, where the vast majority is virtually stagnant in older versions of the operating system, most often jump to the latest version just because it is available to iOS 8 is available globally from the first day1. But iOS 8 has been different, being “tied” with iOS 7 in 47%, according to a new study. While the update rate was fastest in the first few weeks (reaching 46%), it appears that only one percentage number would have gone up since then, indicating that, well, people have stopped updating.

This could be due to several factors. On one hand, we have the fact that the error committed by launching Apple iOS 8.0.1 with bugs, causing problems with some users of iPhone 5S, 6 and 6 Plus. On the other hand, we have the iPhone 4, which is still popular phone sold in some parts of the world, can not be upgraded to iOS 8

But the main reason, I think, is that iOS eight demands too much free storage space available to apply the update. In some cases, we need between 4-6 GBs of space available for update from the device itself. I experienced this firsthand trying to update the iPad 2 from my father, just 16 GBs available. No matter what you erase, I was always without the need to upgrade space. And I’m sure is the case for many people. Whether they have a device with just 16 GBs available, update from the device itself, it is a headache

How to update without deleting photos, videos or apps?

Fed up with error “Not enough space”? The best they can do, is upgrade from iTunes on a PC. This will not need 4 or 6 GBs of free space on the device because iTunes is responsible for making the expansion of the file and its installation on the PC, rather than the device itself. That is, it does not require extra space for installing iOS 8, if they do iTunes, thus avoiding the issue of “not enough”.

The steps, then, is:

Install iTunes on the PC (if you have not already)
Connect iPhone or iPad to the PC using the cable.
Select your device from iTunes

Click “Check for Update” and then “Download and Update”. Once you have done this, iTunes will download and install iOS 8.0.2 without any problem!

While it requires to have it connected to a PC, is much better than going programs and eliminating others, and a simple way to upgrade
