Get your groove on just about anywhere with Ubisoft's free version of the popular dance game.
If youâre a rhythm game junkie like me, chances are youâve played nearly every single game out on the market. Theyâre few and far between when it comes to the iPhone, however â" especially when it comes to dancing games like Just Dance. All that has changed with the advent of Just Dance Now, which allows you to take the boogie fever from the regular game to any PC, tablet, or TV while using your iOS device as a controller.
Normally, with console versions of Just Dance, youâd use your controller (or Kinect, or motion control, as it were) to dance along to the choreographed dancers on-screen, but with Just Dance Now all you need to do is download the app. Anyone who wants to join in can download it as well, then hop into your game by providing a code that can be found at the appâs official website.
What follows is a surprisingly complete experience, with a catalogue of pop songs thatâs quite impressive. While many are locked behind a paywall in the form of a VIP Pass, many of the free songs are refreshed each day so you can at least have some semblance of choice. Youâve got songs like âGangnam Styleâ and Lady Gagaâs âJust Dance,â and thereâs a fun selection of free songs so you donât have to worry about spending money.
Connecting to start up a game is simple as well. Using your iPhone you start up and choose a character, then go to the official Just Dance Now website to get a special code. Then you play using the PC or television (on which you navigated to in order to get the code) as a monitor. Anyone who wants to join needs only get the code, so anybody with a smartphone can get their groove on.
Just Dance Now is very much a streamlined experience compared to that of the console version, but thatâs what makes it such a great piece of entertainment. Itâs quick, free, and allows for some choreographed dances just about anywhere at any time. And if youâre itching to show off your moves, itâs all you need to take the party on the go.
