You donât have to necessarily be at the races to be able to watch and enjoy them, thanks to a new app launched today.
Telstra's new app, named Racing Network Official, will provide punters with  live streaming of the races, along with  replays, results, form guides, live odds, horse profiles, expert race commentary and news.
The app is the result of a partnership between TVN and Telstra, which has exclusive rights to  provide live streaming of all Victorian races, including the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, and  Sydney metropolitan races.
Telstra announced today the app is only available for iPhone at the moment but is available across all phone providers and is free to  download now from the Apple iTunes Stores.
The app was developed by Outware Mobile, the team who have a number of million dollar apps on the go .Punters can access the live streaming by either paying for a subscription via the iTunes store, with a monthly pass costing $19.99, or by subscribing online via www.racingnetwork.com.au [1] .
Racing Network online subscribers can apparently access the iPhone app for free, by using their racingnetwork.com.au subscriber details.
Telstraâs Executive Director of Digital Media and IPTV, J-B Rousselot, said the new app was the first of its kind in Australia and a big win for Australian racing fans.
âWeâre delighted to be launching the Racing Network app in time for the Spring Racing Carnival,  giving punters access to all the action, live at their fingertips, wherever they might be,â Mr Rousselot  said.
âTelstra is proud to be at the forefront of changing how punters can be part of the races, from online coverage at BigPond, IPTV streaming through T-Box and now a dedicated iPhone app.
