Amazon Instant Video now supports offline playback for Prime members

Amazon Prime Instant Video

The Instant Video app from Amazon is one of the more popular ways for folks to enjoy movies and TV shows, but it’s been missing one feature for quite some time: Offline playback.

That changes today, though, as Amazon has officially announced that its iOS (and Android) app is picking up support for users to download their Instant Videos to their device, and watch them without the need of an internet connection. Unfortunately, there’s a catch right out of the gate: Offline playback for Instant Video is reserved for Prime members.

Amazon Prime members already get a ton of extras with their subscription, including two-day shipping, access to even more content through the Instant Video service, and more, so this perk is certainly one of many.Is it enough to get non-subscribers to make the switch, though?
