SoundHound [1] , an audio recognition service, today announced [2] a refresh for its iPhone and iPad application with Apple Music integration, a new Beats 1 Radio row within song pages and other enhancements.
With Apple Music and Beats 1 integration, users can stream music discovered through SoundHound on Apple Music and enjoy the ability to listen to the streaming radio broadcast provided by Beats 1.
These new features will go live in over a hundred Apple Music countries via a free update to Soundhoundâs iOS app, which will be rolling out later today.
âSoundHound users are the most savvy and engaged music consumers in the world, and we know they will be delighted to have seamless access to Apple Music,â said Katie McMahon, Vice President and General Manager with SoundHound.
To stream SoundHound songs through Apple Music, tap the new button labeled âApple Music â" Listen Nowâ on the home screen or within individual song pages.
Apple Music integration works with Appleâs free three-month trial.
You can stream music on Apple Music that you discovered through SoundHoundâs music identification feature, personalized History, Top Charts and Music Maps. Itâs interesting that SoundHound is now promoting Beats 1, Appleâs new global radio station that streams live programming anchored by celebrity DJs.
Youâll notice a new âBeats 1 Radioâ row within song pages, which allows you to listen to the streaming radio broadcast on Beats 1 free of charge.
The 37-megabyte app requires an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with iOS 7.0 or later.
The app is optimized for the iPhone 5/5s/5c, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus screen sizes and includes a WatchKit component with a glance and an Apple Watch app that puts live lyrics on your wrist, among other features.
