Pixelmator brings its powerful photo-editing app to iPhone

Pixelmator on iPhone

Pixelmator, the powerful image editing application that’s hugely popular among Mac users, is now available on iPhone . If you already have the iPad version of the app, the iPhone version is a free update, and it comes with a number of new features.

In addition to iPhone support, this update brings a new Distort tool powered by Metal that lets you pinch, bump, twirl, and warp areas of your image. There’s also a new Clone tool for replicating areas of your image, and a Repair Selection tool that instantly repairs selected areas.

This update also includes a long list of bug fixes that promise to increase stability, improve overall performance, and enhance a number of Pixelmator’s tools.

If you’re not already familiar with Pixelmator, it’s a wonderful Photoshop alternative that’s a fraction of the cost. It’s just $29.99 on Mac and $4.99 on iOS (for a limited time), and it includes many of the features you get with much more expensive image editing applications. It even opens Photoshop files.

If you do any kind of image editing on your Mac or iOS devices, then, and you feel Photoshop is too expensive, I urge you to give Pixelmator a try â€" it’s worth every penny.
