Google Cardboard brings virtual reality to your iPhone at long last, available now | Google Cardboard news | iPhone

Yesterday, at Google's I/O event, it was announced that the company's virtual reality product Google Cardboard would be coming to iOS.

Lo and behold, here it is, now available on the App Store to download for free. You'll need to buy the actual cardboard peripheral [1] , of course, but it's all there and ready to go.

What this means is that even more people have the chance to act like a berk with a piece of cardboard in front of their face.

OK, admittedly, Google Cardboard doesn't look any more ridiculous than most other VR headsets. And at least it's cheap in comparison to those other ones.

While the app side of Cardboard supports everything from the smallest iPod to the iPad, the physical bit of cardboard you n eed to assemble only fits iPhones up to six inches in size, so bear that in mind.

According to The Verge [2] , who went hands-on with it, Google Cardboard on iPhone is the same as it is on Android. The only difference is that there are few different demo apps.

If you want to step into mobile virtual reality then, iOS players, you can now do so. Download the Google Cardboard app for free on the App Store .

Then go buy yourself some cardboard goggles for a minimum price of £14.99 / $19.99.
