Back in 2009, Yo La Tengo released Fuckbook, an album of scrappy, noisy lo-fi punk under their alter-ego Condo Fucks. And every once in a while, YLT will dust off that Condo Fucks name to play a set of covers. This past Friday, they played the Cake Shop, the tiny Lower East Side venue that literally sells cake in its storefront, to help celebrate the spotâs 10th anniversary. The bandâs set included covers of songs from the Stooges, Roxy Music, the Small Faces, Television Personalities, Angry Samoans, Swamp Dogg, and Booker T And The MGs. The estimable New York institution NYCtaper was there to record the entire show, and you can download the entire hour-long recording at his site [1] .
