Football's biggest event is no longer only available for those with a cable subscription.

NBC Sports is offering a live stream of the Super Bowl [1] completely free for anyone with an Internet connection on their computer, tablet, Android or iPhone.

The 11-hour Super Bowl special, which includes the game and several hours of pre-coverage, begins at 11 a.m. The entire event is available on the live stream.

The NBC Sports website and the NBC Sports Live Extra app [2] for Android or iPhone carries the live stream. The apps can be purchased for free from the App Store or the Google Play Store.

While the livestream is available for almost everyone, some viewers will not be able to access it. NBC Sports does not allow access for viewers outside of the U.S. due to broadcasting regulations.

NBC became the first network to live stream the Super Bowl for free in 2012. Since then, the game has been offered via live stream every year.

News breaks at inconvenient times.   Download one of the NBCChicago mobile apps and have the news come to you. Watch live streaming newscasts, receive critical push notifications on the go and stay in touch with your city around the clock.
