Free Office and new apps for Android and iPhone
In a surprise move, Microsoft has just made its Office Suite, totally free for all mobile users. This means you no longer need a subscription to Office 365 (usually $ 99 per year for a family pack, or $ 70 for a single user or $ 9 / $ 7 per month, respectively) to be able to use Powerpoint Excel and WordPress on our iPad, Android tablet or iPhone.
Along with this announcement, Microsoft introduced a new app for Android tablets and iPhone. The Android version is still in a âPreviewâ and not available to the general public, but the app is identical to that presented in the iPad several months ago. In iPhone, apps that were previously exclusive to iPad are now compatible with the iPhone (universal apps) replacing Office Mobile

Curious move by Microsoft, which previously used the theme of Word, Excel and Powerpoint as an incentive to purchase a subscription to Office 365. But perhaps this move is to keep Office as the dominant office suite application or in the mobile space.
According to John Case, corporate vice president of marketing for Office at Microsoft: âWe would like to dramatically increase the number of people who are testing Office. This move is to broaden the funnel â
Whatever it is, this is great news for all users of iPads, iPhone and a future Android tablet users! We no longer content with inferior versions of office suites (mostly terrible), now have access to free Office âtruthâ, directly on our phones
