New Spike TV app features Bellator MMA content, including more than 30 free fights

spike-tv-bellator-iphone-appSpike TV today launched its first app, and the included content should hit home with MMA fans.

Spike TV, the broadcasting home for Bellator MMA, has included content from the promotion as a key portion of the new app, including more than 30 free Bellator fights in full.

The app is available now for free through Apple’s App Store and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices.

In addition to the Bellator content, the Spike TV app includes content for many of the cable network’s other series, like “Bar Rescue,” “Ink Master,” “Catch a Contractor” and “Deadliest Warrior.”

But it’s the Bellator content that MMA fans will be most interested in. Already on the app are full fights from the promotion’s most recent event, Bellator 126 â€" including Brandon Halsey’s 35-second win over veteran middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko.

“The Spike app represents a huge step in our evolution into a network delivering broad-based original hit series to our viewers â€" anywhere, anytime,” Spike TV President Kevin Kay stated.

Spike plans to release new full fights to the Bellator content library in the app each week. Some of the promotion’s most recent biggest fights already are there, including both lightweight fights between Michael Chandler and Eddie Alvarez, Emanuel Newton’s spinning backfist knockout of “King Mo” Lawal and more.
