Despite admittedly appearing to struggle during the live broadcast of Channel 4â²s brand new talent search, last night, the official app of The Singer Takes It All [1] has topped the UKâs FREE iOS Chart â" this weekend.
For those not familiar with the show:
The Singer Takes It All is a new, completely interactive singing gameshow where all of the action is controlled by you. Watch performances in the app to choose who gets on TV. Record your own performance and upload it to compete to get on the show. Then watch the show and vote live, to determine the winner!
[2]
According to Channel 4, viewers placed over 2 Million votes during the showâs debut airing, on Friday, in order to see their favourite singers enter the safety of the âGold Zone,â and have a shot at winning the showâs jackpot: £15,000.
But those using the app reportedly had a less than stellar time trying to get it to work as advertised, with Channel 4â²s Alan Carr [3] having to announce twice (on air) that the app was playing up, at the same time joking that the showâs producers had gathered a team of independent adductors in a rusty old skip out back â" in case of these exact situations.
Visit the Recording Studio section of the app and choose your favourite song from our massive catalogue â" everything from ABBA to Adele, Beyoncé to Bob Marley. Then follow the lyrics, as you sing and record your video audition straight into the app.
Nevertheless, the issues donât appear to have put wannabe singers off from continuing to upload a deluge of random audition tapes to be judged, in the hopes that they too will be voted up by the public and selected to partake in next weekâs live show.
If you havenât already, you can download The Singer Takes It All [4] for FREE on the App Store. The app supports both Appleâs iPhone and iPad, universally.
The showâs second episode will air on Friday, August 8 at 9PM.
