Facebook Messenger, the messaging app tied to the popular social network, has been available for the iPhone for quite some time, but has long been missing support for Appleâs tablet. That changes with the update to version 7.0, released today.
Facebook Messenger has been available for quite some time on the iPhone, but support for the iPad has been up in the air since its release. Today, Facebook officially updated the messaging application to version 7.0, and with it, support for iPad. As far as features go, itâs similar to the iPhone version of the app (which isnât surprising at all), but obviously can show quite a bit more content than the iPhone variant. Youâll now be able to see the conversation threads on the side, even while youâre in a conversation with someone.
Additionally, the iPad version of the app also supports calling, so youâll have that option if typing something out doesnât really serve the right purpose for the conversation at hand. Moreover, if youâre a fan of Facebookâs sticker packs, youâll be happy to know youâll be able to flood your friends with stickers right from your iPad from here on out.
Hereâs the change log for the update, as seen in the Store:
âCalls are now more reliable.
Fixed issues so that the list of people active on Facebook shows up faster.â
