Appleâs app of the week is a week-long promotion that slashes the price on a popular iOS game or app, offering the title for free. This week the free title is Republique, the debut title from independent game studio Camouflaj. Created by the folks behind Halo 4, Metal Gear Solid and other industry leading games, Republique is a stealth-action game that places you in a totalitarian state with an elaborate nationwide surveillance system that you can access and control.
[1]
In Republique, you play as a hacker living in a dystopian age with the internet and wide-ranging government surveillance. You are called upon by Hope, a woman in distress who is being held captive in an oppressive totalitarian compound. You must use your modern-day communication tools and surveillance cameras to assist Hope as she escapes. The touch-based UI is cleverly crafted and lends itself well to the engaging gameplay.

Republique [2] follows a story-based narrative with a strong supporting group of characters and several episodes for you to play. It is available for free in the iOS App Store with additional episodes available via an in-app purchase. It is compatible with the iPhone and iPad and requires iOS 7. The sale started June 5th and will last until June 12th, Do you plan on picking up Republique while it is free?
