Last year with iOS 7, Apple introduced FaceTime Audio , a service to make voice-only calls to other iPhone and iPad users over the internet that was integrated right into the Phone app. iOS 8 makes FaceTime Audio even more useful by letting users make FaceTime Audio conference calls.
Earlier FaceTime could just handle two-way voice calls, but now you can add more contacts while your call is in progress.
If you were looking for a similar conference call feature for FaceTime video calls, youâre out of luck, at least for now. Adding multi-way video calls seems like a natural extension to FaceTime, if not for iOS 8, then for iOS 9.
