9 apps to setup your weekend

The fifth and final edition of App Recap this week is upon us, setting up the weekend nicely with a selection of nine new, updated and discounted apps for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. We’ve got a bunch of new games to check out, in addition to several app updates that you should know about. New Apps

Disney Karaoke FrozenDisney Karaoke: Frozen [1] features music and film clips from the movie of the same name, allowing you to sing along with your favorite songs, record your voice with the original instrumental tracks, create a gallery of your performances and share your recordings with others. Disney Karaoke: Frozen is available now as a $7.99 download on the App Store [2] for iPad.

TwoDotsTwoDots [3] is a new addictive puzzle game in which you join two brave dots as they traverse arctic tundras, navigate fiery jungles and plunge to ocean depths. Sharpen your skills as you play across 85 challenging levels and uncover various exciting features. The game is free to play with in-app purchases available. TwoDots is free on the App Store [4] and universal for iPhone and iPad.

TocaTownToca Town [5] is a world where anything and everyone is welcome. The kids game features different locations and many classic Toca Boca characters, making the adventures in Toca Town infinite. You can explore, create, and discover within the town, doing everything from playing cops and robbers to discovering hidden treasures. Toca Town is $2.99 on the App St ore [6] for iPhone and iPad.

Updated Apps

1PasThe award-winning password manager 1Password [7] has been updated to version 4.5.2 with automatic backups of your data accessible via iTunes, the return of item printing, improved syncing and bug fixes. In addition to password management, 1Password features a secure wallet, a secure built-in web browser and more. 1Password is $17.9 9 on the App Store [8]  for iPhone and iPad.

GPMAs our resident Christian Zibreg told you, Google Play Music [9] received an update recently with a Downloaded Only filter, playlist editing, shuffle artist feature and improved user interface with a new scrollable app header. Google likes to use obscure app version numbers, so the app is now at version 1.2.1.1787. Google Play Music is a free downloa d on the App Store [10] for iPhone.

On Sale Apps

Gloom1Gloomlogue [11] went free as part of a promotion in the App of the Day app, but the sale could end at any moment. Gloomlogue, regularly 99 cents, lets you transform your photos into illustrated gloom paints. You can apply over 15 beautiful filters and 12 fonts to the photos, export them in high resolution and share on Instagram and other social networks. Gloomlogue is free for iPhone [12] .

PSSGTo celebrate its fifth anniversary, Kdan Mobile is offering a free trial of the Kdan Creative Cloud and has discounted Paper Spiral [13] from $2.99 to free for a limited time. The drawing app is ideal for matte painting, storyboarding, sketching or plain old traditional painting. It features several brushes, erasers, tools, viewing and editing modes and more. Paper Spiral is free for iPad [14] .

ThirdEyeThird Eye Crime: Act 1 [15] is a stealth puzzle game featuring Rothko, a smooth-talking criminal who can telepathically predict where enemies will move to attempt to thwart his heists. For a limited time, the app is discounted from $2.99 to 99 cents for iPhone and iPad [16] . The game is by indie developer Moonshot Games, which has years of expertise at its hands, including the designers of Halo.

GS2The premium version of Gardenscapes 2 [17] has gone free, down from its regular $2.99 price tag. In the game, accompany Austin to the place of his childhood and help him restore his family garden. Features include 60 outdoor decor items for the garden, over 80 hidden object levels, several mini-games and more. Gardenscapes 2 is now free o n the App Store [18] for iPhone and iPad.
