Light It Up Blue for World Autism Day

I have a TON of posts on Autism on this site. You can see them all here . Today is World Autism Day so I thought I’d share with you ways you can help show your support. The CDC just announced that the amount of children with Autism has increased from 1 in 88 to 1 in 68 and is likely still on the rise. Here are ways you can show your support!

Light Up Your House!

  • Change outdoor/indoor white bulbs to blue bulbs
  • Tint windows with blue gel sheets
  • Cover existing fixtures with blue gel filters
  • Invite neighbors and friends to light blue and join in shining a light on autism!

Wear Blue

Incorporate blue into apparel or accessories for family, friends, coworkers
and staff (ties, scarfs, shirts, etc.).

Post Blue

  • Turn your website blue or add the Light It Up Blue logo with a link to autismspeaks.org/LIUB [1]
  • Share your participation through emails, Facebook, Twitter and Google+
  • Tweet autism facts with #LIUB in your tweets
  • TEXT “AUTISM” to 25383 to donate $10 to Autism Speaks*
  • Download the free LIUB iPhone or Android app to add photos and see all the participating buildings

There are many ways to show your support! These are just a few ideas. I’ll have more posts this month sharing tips and where you can find unique autism clothing and accessories to show your support year round!
