Video shows Steve Wozniak surprising a fan by delivering a Mac personally

Steve Wozniak Mac Delivery

Steve Wozniak , the co-founder of Apple is known as one of the greatest engineers of the current generation with his work on the Apple I and Apple II which revolutionized the PC industry. He is also known for his great relationship with his fans and this new video is testament to that.

This video taken a few years ago has just surfaced, which shows how Steve Wozniak walked up to Emma Fraser’s house and delivered an iMac personally. This was done after her father Peter requested Wozniak to do this for his daughter. Surprisingly, Mr. Fraser was only an email acquaintance, so this speaks volumes about the kind of person Wozniak is.

The rest as they say is history with Emma evidently being awestruck at meeting her idol. The girl’s father rightly says â€" “This is like having your lightbulbs delivered by Thomas Edison.”

Here’s Wozniak’s recollection of how the events transpired:

An email-only acquaintance, Peter Fraser, came up with the idea and asked if I’d do it. I met him around the block to get the computer from him. After a short wait I drove to his house and surprised his daughter. But I had to keep driving to Tahoe that evening.

Rather often when I meet people after appearances they mention how much it would have meant to someone in their family to meet me. I often ask them for the phone number and dial their son or spouse and pretend to be from Apple customer support asking questions about how they like their Apple products and more. It’s like a satisfaction survey. I either give my name early on or later and I ask the questions straight faced, like I really do it for Apple.

Let me know what you think in the comments.
