Philip Wood was a passenger on the missing flight MA370. He worked for IBM in Beijing. He apparently had some kind of smartphone:
Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein brushed aside claims that there was still a possibility for passengers of the ill fated MH370 to communicate with people on the ground at 2am, 30 minutes after the plane was last spotted on Saturday.
“No,†he replied when asked in the press conference on Wednesday.
The question was posed by an Astro AWANI reporter based on a screen grab of a conversation that took place between American passenger Philip Wood and his acquaintance, owner of the Instagram account with the user name Hun_l.
Wood, was recorded exchanging messages at 2.12am via instant messaging application, Kik Messenger, whilst the supper service on board the flight was underway.
Astro AWANI was alerted of this conversation by a source that wished to remain anonymous. The source shared screen grabs of his conversation with Hun, who also mentioned that he has been in contact with the Wood’s brother who advised him to wait before taking further actions.
The identity of Hun_I who was tracked down to be in Beijing, was verified by Astro AWANI who called two individuals in Malaysia who knows him personally.
In the conversation, Wood who claims to be using his phone in the plane secretly, said that the temperature in the cabin was warm and that there seems to be a problem with the craft’s air conditioning system.
He also added that there was difficulty to breath….

I have been held hostage by unknown military personal after my flight was hijacked (blindfolded). I work for IBM and I have managed to hide my cellphone in my ass during the hijack. I have been separated from the rest of the passengers and I am in a cell. My name is Philip Wood. I think I have been drugged as well and cannot think clearly.
It looks black but it’s not, it’s just very dim as you can see for yourself if you examine it with a graphics editor. Do a right click on the photo and download it. If you load it in adobe photoshop and do a file->file info, the metadata embedded in this photo shows (among lots of other tech stuff):

The ImageUniqueID might tie to the serial#, phone# and owner of the phone. Hopefully someone out there knows how to check this.
