Why Apple desperately needs to create a better pair of ear buds

We've all come across the Apple EarPods at some point. The striking white simplicity and the unique ear design stands out to all of us. They really are pretty decent for their price range, but they could be improved heavily.

Why should Apple focus their time and money on a product like this if they already have one? Simple, money and the Apple ecosystem. Through the years I've had many chances to try numerous ear buds and in-ear monitors, but none have really been perfect. This is something which Apple could easily fix, and bring in more customers with it.

The Apple in-ear headphones already exist as a step up to the EarPods, although they lack a lot of the requirements for the modern music of today. Apple decided to use two balanced armature drivers instead of a single dynamic driver which could've performed better for this price range. Is it good? Yeah, but it really doesn't fit with a lot of genres. Because of this, nobody really uses them. They choose other options like skull candy, klipsch, beats, and other popular brands which fit their music style. Everybody knows this, but what Apple doesn't know is how they can change our options for the better.

Most ear buds and in-ear monitors under $100 all have their own issues. Too much or too little bass, sharp or lacking treble, pronounced or recessed mids, they all have issues. Apple owns iTunes and the iproducts which a majority of people use everyday for music. Since Apple has a large impact on our music, shouldn't they have a decent product to play it? I'm talking about a modern Apple in-ear headphone. One based off of a dynamic driver perfectly tuned with bumping but not overpowering bass, sparkly but sibilance free treble, and mids which aren't washed out or too pronounced. The best option under $100 for music should be made by Apple. It would have special features which only worked on an idevice, such as music controls or even options to open the music app when the in -ear headphone was plugged in. Not only would a lot of people buy it just for the Apple name, more people would buy it because it was the best sounding in ear they could purchase.

Okay, let's say Apple does this. What should they charge to make it successful? Well, that depends on the product. How much it costs them to make will determine how much it costs to buy. Anything in the $50 to $60 range should be perfect for the average consumer. Not too much, and not too little. I mentioned ecosystem as one of the benefits as well. If Apple had more features in their quality in-ear headphone which only worked on idevices, people would be more inclined to buy one. Welcome to business, and welcome to money Apple.

This would solve a lot of problems with cheap options for the music we listen to. People are lost most of the time and usually pick the one which looks the best or is advertised as the best (beats, Bose). They're certainly not bad, just not the best. This woul d also bring more business to Apple, which of course isn't a bad thing. You get an amazing product with your purchase of an iPhone or iPad, and Apple gets a satisfied customer who will keep coming back. It's a win win for everybody.

So, tell me what you think of this idea. Do you agree? Or do you think this is a bad path for Apple? This is just a little idea I had while on my morning bus. I thought I would share it with you guys and see what you think. Thanks for taking the time to read this!
