If battery life is one of your biggest gripes about the iPhone, then you should check out BattSaver, which has recently been updated to add support for iOS 7.
In case, youâre not aware, BattSaver promises to double your iPhoneâs battery life by cleverly managing battery draining components such as 4G/LTE radio etc.
The tweak allows you to manage your iPhoneâs battery life by letting you select one of the battery saving strategies such as Normal, Aggressive, Ultimate, Custom and iMessage friendly.
Hereâs a brief description of how the tweak manages battery draining components to extend battery life for each of the strategies.
Normal:
- All radios are disabled when you turn off the device and back on when you turn it back on, Each 15 minutes it allows BattSaver to wake up radios to get latest email and notifications
Aggressive :
- Same as Normal, plus :
- Each 45 minutes it allows BattSaver to wake up radios to get latest email and notifications.
- It disable Edge if WiFi is connected.
- It disable WiFi if no hotspot is detected.
- It switches to Ultimate mode if battery is less than 15%.
Ultimate :
- It disables all radios when phone is turned off.
- It does not enable radios when turn on (it up to you to enable the radio you need manually via SBSettings for example).
- It disable Edge if WiFi is connected.
- It disable WiFi if no hotspot is detected.
iMessage friendly:
- All radios except Edge are disabled when you turn off the device and back on when you turn it back on.
- You do not loose any iMessage this way (or force the sender to send messages via SMS).
If youâre not happy with these options, then you can select the Custom option, which allows you to manage your iPhoneâs radios based on your usage.
The tweak also offers some interesting details about your iPhoneâs battery such as the current capacity of your battery, the number of charge cycle counts etc.

BattSaver for iOS 7 is available on Cydia for $3.99. You can install it for free if you had purchased it previously.
I must add that the tweak did not work as well as I had hoped in iOS 6.x, and ended up uninstalling it. But I will monitor how well it works over the next few days and report back. Please donât forget to tell me how it goes if you install the jailbreak tweak.
