Apple are to introduce iPhone 6 in the third quarter, with a reported 4.7-inch screen

Japanese markets soared after the BoJ kept its main monetary unchanged but extended the period of its lending programs by 1 year and increased its main growth funding program to JPY 7tln. This saw the Nikkei 225 climb to test the 14900.00 level as Japanese markets were buoyed by the BoJ’s efforts to spur credit in the market. Elsewhere, Asian equity markets traded mixed with the ASX 200 closing relatively flat but did see outperformance in the Basic Materials sector after industry giant ’s earnings report beat expectations, whilst Chinese markets are the underperformers after the PBoC drained CNY 48bln via 14-day repos which was its first drain through forward repos in 8 months. Finally, the ASX 200 closed up 0.18% at 5392.82, the Nikkei 225 closed up 3.13% at 14843.24 and the KOSPI closed up 0.03% at 1946.91. (RANsquawk)
