EL James's raunchy Fifty Shades of Grey came in fourth place, while follow-ups Fifty Shades Freed and Fifty Shades Darker occupied the seventh and eight positions.

Games dominate the top-downloaded lists for both free and paid-for apps on the iPhone. Candy Crush Saga was the most popular free app of 2013, while Temple Run 2 came in third. In terms of paid-for apps, Minecraft led the chart, with Angry Birds Star Wars in second place. Downloads on the iPad closely resembled the phone lists, with Candy Crush Sage topping the free chart and Minecraft leading the paid-for list.
