Spin – a ‘free’ new video-chatting app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch

Spin a free new video-chatting app for iPhone, iPad and iPod TouchOn Tuesday evening, San Francisco-based firm called Net Power & Light launched a `free' new video-chatting app - dubbed Spin - for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

The initial release of Spin app is now available for free from the App Store; and updated versions, with additional functionalities, will be made available in future. An Android version of the app will likely be launched in the first quarter of 2014.

Without requiring an account to participate in a chat, the Spin app allows up to 10 parties to participate in a single chat session, which is called a `gathering.' Spin provides what is describes as "real-time together experiences" for groups of people on the platform; and also allows the users to share Facebook of Flickr photos and YouTube videos with other users during a chat.

Since the Spin app has been created for the `touch' functionality of mobile devices, users can swipe or flick in and out of the `gatherings.' In addition, users can also pinch and zoom to enlarge the whole `gathering' or only the small tile which represents an individual in that group.

About the new Spin video-chatting app, Net Power & Light's founder and CEO Tara Lemmey said: "We designed Spin's technology platform from the ground up to amplify how people naturally act and engage when they're deeply connected and together."
